Holidays and non-teaching days
The calendar designates two main holiday blocks. Christmas holidays will run from 22 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, inclusive. Easter holidays are set from 25 March to 5 April 2027, inclusive. In addition, four public holidays fall within the school period: 9 October (Valencian Community Day), 12 October (National Day of Spain), 8 December (Immaculate Conception), and 19 March (Saint Joseph's Day).
Municipal autonomy
Municipal School Councils will retain the ability to schedule three additional local holidays. Furthermore, once a planned regulatory amendment is approved, councils may request swapping between one and four teaching days for non-teaching days, provided the same number of days are compensated elsewhere in the calendar. The director general, Jorge Cabo, described this step as reinforcing local flexibility.
