Initial reports from regional outlet Trierischer Volksfreund noted that the jet went down near a golf course and the B50 highway between Binsfeld and Spangdahlem during an apparent landing attempt. A spokesperson for the air base stated that the aviation incident took place on the flight line area adjacent to the runway.
