The draw for the 2026–2027 UEFA Champions League league phase took place in Monaco on 27 August 2026. Conducted by former footballers Thierry Henry and David Villa using UEFA digital draw software, the ceremony determined the eight opponents for all 36 participating clubs. Under the single-table format, each club plays eight distinct opponents (four home fixtures and four away fixtures) rather than competing in traditional round-robin groups. The league phase begins with opening fixtures spread across 8–10 September 2026 and concludes on 27 January 2027 with a simultaneous 18-match final round. The final match schedule with confirmed dates and kickoff times will be published by UEFA on 29 August 2026 at the latest.

Paris Saint-Germain faces Barcelona and English trips
Defending two-time European champion Paris Saint-Germain faces a challenging set of eight matches. At the Parc des Princes, the French capital club hosts FC Barcelona, AS Roma, Galatasaray, and Slovan Bratislava. PSG travels for away fixtures against Manchester City, Aston Villa, Villarreal, and Italian side Como. The draw creates personal ties for PSG manager Luis Enrique, who previously managed opponents AS Roma (2011–2012) and FC Barcelona (2014–2017). PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi commented on meeting Barcelona in the mixed zone.

Al-Khelaïfi noted that the club will approach the campaign step by step rather than focusing immediately on securing a third consecutive European title.
Lille and Lens draw Premier League opposition
Lille OSC, which finished third in Ligue 1 last season and entered from pot 3, hosts Bayern Munich, Real Betis, Galatasaray, and Slovan Bratislava at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. The squad coached by Davide Ancelotti travels to London to face last season's finalists Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, alongside away fixtures against AS Roma, Bodø/Glimt, and VfB Stuttgart. The trip to London marks a return for 40-year-old Lille forward Olivier Giroud, who played six seasons for Arsenal between 2012 and 2018. Lille club president Olivier Létang set an uncompromising target for the squad.

RC Lens, which finished as Ligue 1 runners-up last season from pot 4, also received fixtures against Premier League opposition. Conflicting source reports state Lens will face Manchester City and Liverpool, with one outlet listing City at home and Liverpool away, and another reporting the reverse venues. Lens will also face Club Brugge, RB Leipzig, Sporting CP, Slavia Prague, Bodø/Glimt, and Como.
Key clashes across the continent
Beyond the French clubs, the draw produced multiple encounters between leading continental sides. Arsenal will host Real Madrid, while Bayern Munich travels to face Atlético Madrid. Real Madrid will also host Inter Milan, who travel to Anfield to play Liverpool. Manchester City will play away at FC Barcelona, while Bayern Munich hosts Arsenal in Germany. The top eight teams from the 36-club league table will qualify directly for the round of 16, while teams ranking ninth through 24th will enter a two-legged playoff round to secure the remaining knockout berths.
