Police shoot machete-wielding attacker in Trzcianka; father's body found outside building

Domestic disturbance call

On Saturday evening, police in Trzcianka, a town in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, received a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers were dispatched to an apartment block. The exact time of the call was not disclosed, but the incident unfolded before 8 p.m. local time.

Attack on officers

Upon arrival, the responding officers were confronted by a man armed with an object resembling a machete. The attacker immediately struck, wounding one policeman in the hand. Despite repeated commands to stop, the assailant continued his assault, placing the officers' lives at risk.

After arriving at the scene, they were attacked with an object resembling a machete. One of the policemen was wounded in the hand. Because their health and life were threatened and the attacker did not respond to commands, two policemen used their firearms and shot the attacker.

Police open fire

Father's body discovered
