Operating from a workstation located immediately outside the Oval Office, Harp has not taken a single day of vacation since Trump returned to office in 2025. Nicknamed the human printer, she carries a portable printer, multiple laptops, and smartphones to deliver paper printouts of media coverage, polling data, and online commentary directly to the president. Harp holds direct posting privileges on Trump's Truth Social platform, where she inputs dictated messages complete with custom capitalization styles. The Wall Street Journal reported that Harp previously posted unapproved material, including an artificial intelligence image depicting Trump as Jesus and a video depicting Barack Obama as an ape. Harp's proximity to Trump has drawn scrutiny from security officials and family members. Reporting by The New York Times indicated the Secret Service expressed concern over her fixation on the president and noted she worked for a period without completed security clearance. In the book Regime Change, authors Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan reported that Harp sent handwritten notes to Trump, writing that he was all that mattered to her and describing him as her keeper and protector. Following an October 2023 argument in the lobby of Trump Tower over missing motorcade space for a New York court appearance, Harp climbed into the trunk of an SUV to accompany the convoy.
