Manhunt for suspect after mother and two children found dead in Great Denham
Police have launched a murder investigation after a mother and her two children were found dead at a home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, with the primary suspect believed to have fled the country.
Discovery
Bedfordshire Police forced entry into a house on Carnoustie Drive, Great Denham, on Monday 6 July after receiving reports that a mother and her two children had not been seen for several days. Inside, officers found the bodies of all three. The property is in a residential area near Bedford, and the family had not been in contact with anyone since the previous week.
Investigation
A murder investigation was launched immediately, led by Bedfordshire Police under Operation Snowdrift. Assistant Chief Constable John Murphy described the case as deeply distressing and confirmed that a suspect had been identified.
We have identified a suspect, who was known to all three victims and who we believe has since left the country.
Murphy said there is nothing to suggest any wider risk to the public, but police presence in the area has been increased to support the investigation and provide reassurance. Officers are treating the deaths as a triple murder and are committing all necessary resources to establish exactly what happened.
