The charge and alleged incident

According to Il Messaggero, citing The Sun's reconstruction at the time, a fan had recognised the footballer and grabbed him in an attempt to take a photograph shortly before the incident occurred. Toney's response

A spokesperson for Toney issued a statement after the charge became public.
