Kamil Stoch joins Polish Ski Association as board advisor for ski jumping
Three-time Olympic champion Kamil Stoch will begin an advisory role with the Polish Ski Association in early 2027, serving as a liaison between athletes, coaches, and federation officials.
Advisory role at the ski federation
The Polish Ski Association (PZN) announced on 1 October 2026 that retired ski jumper Kamil Stoch will join its board as an advisor for ski jumping. The 39-year-old athlete will act as a liaison connecting national team competitors, coaching staffs, and federation executives. PZN President Apoloniusz Tajner conducted talks with Stoch over three months to determine how to draw on his experience. Tajner consulted national team coach Maciej Maciusiak and active athletes before finalising the offer. Stoch noted that teammates welcomed the appointment as a natural step.
Tajner explained why the federation sought to integrate the retired athlete into its leadership structure.
I have been talking with Kamil for three months about how we can use the fact that he has ended his career. He is a highly titled competitor, so his opinion on ski jumping is very valuable to us. He is liked by athletes and coaches, and he approaches every topic very seriously. That is why we were very keen to bring Kamil into cooperation with the Polish Ski Association. I spoke with national team coach Maciej Maciusiak, but also with the competitors. They are simply very happy that they would have Kamil close to them.
Competitive record and career honours
Stoch concluded his competitive career at the end of the 2025/26 season. His record includes three Olympic individual gold medals, winning on normal and large hills in Sochi in 2014 and on the large hill in Pyeongchang in 2018, alongside an Olympic team bronze medal in 2018. Across World Championship competitions, Stoch earned six medals in ski jumping and three at the Ski Flying World Championships. His honours list also includes two overall World Cup titles and three Four Hills Tournament victories.

Post-retirement transition and travel plans
Following his final competition in Planica in late March 2026, Stoch received a gift of a round-the-world trip for himself and his wife Ewa. Stoch confirmed in an interview with Wiktor Marczuk that the couple plans to complete this journey before settling into long-term projects. The trip is projected to take several months before Stoch returns to implement youth initiatives with club coaches. During the summer of 2026, Stoch observed youth sessions at his club, KS Eve-nement Zakopane, where competitor Jan Galica noted that Stoch visited training camps to advise younger athletes.
Mandate terms and start date
The advisory agreement between Stoch and the federation begins in early 2027. Under the arrangement, Stoch will determine his own schedule and initial level of engagement to adapt gradually to the new role. Beyond advising senior national teams, his duties include supporting junior groups and coordinating with regional training programmes. Stoch addressed the terms of his advisory role in a statement released by the federation.
I am very glad that PZN agreed to let me initially manage my own time and level of involvement. For me this is a new role and I need to ease into it slowly, because I know myself and I would not want to burn out right at the start. Of course I am also aware that once I get into something, I simply want to give my all. I look forward to this cooperation because this function will require close presence in ski jumping. I want to have contact with national teams, but also with younger training groups.
