Sporting travels to Vila do Conde to face Rio Ave on Friday, with the chance to temporarily reach first place in Portugal's top division with a third consecutive victory.

Sporting confirmed its starting lineup ahead of Friday's Portuguese top-flight fixture against Rio Ave in Vila do Conde. A victory in the matchday four opener would lift the Lisbon side temporarily to the top of the league table, following home victories over Vitória de Guimarães (3-2) and Alverca (3-1).

Rio Ave entered the match after securing a 2-0 victory at Estoril, which followed consecutive defeats in their opening two games, including a 1-0 home loss against FC Porto. Sporting's starting eleven features Rui Silva in goal, alongside Fresneda, Debast, Gonçalo Inácio, Maxi Araújo, Altimira, Doumbia, Geny Catamo, Flávio Gonçalves, Zalazar, and Luis Suárez. Rio Ave lines up with Ennio Gouw in goal, backed by defenders Ntoi, Petrasso, Gustavo Mancha, and Vrousai, with Nikitsher, Liavas, Bezerra, Blesa, Spikic, and Tamble completing the formation.
