In brief
Tomasz Rzymkowski joins the Konfederacja club, which will have 17 deputies after his arrival, as announced by chairman Grzegorz Płaczek at a Sejm press conference on 22 October 2026.
The party's Council of Leaders accepted Rzymkowski on 21 October, the day before the public announcement, according to Płaczek.
Rzymkowski entered the Sejm in 2015 from Kukiz'15, won a seat from the PiS list in 2019, and served as deputy education minister in 2021-2023 before taking over Marcin Przydacz's seat in September 2025.

A transfer announced in the Sejm
On Thursday, 22 October 2026, the Konfederacja parliamentary club announced at a press conference in the Sejm that Tomasz Rzymkowski is joining its ranks. The party's Council of Leaders made the decision the day before, on 21 October, according to club chairman Grzegorz Płaczek. Rzymkowski leaves the Demokracja Bezpośrednia circle, which he had joined in January 2026, and his arrival lifts the club to 17 deputies. Płaczek presented him as a doctor of law, an academic teacher, a KUL graduate and a father of four who fully supports what Konfederacja stands for.
“Without doubt he will be a strengthening for us.”
A career across three parties
Rzymkowski first entered the Sejm in 2015 from the Kukiz'15 list. He won a mandate again in 2019 from the list of Law and Justice (PiS), and between 2021 and 2023 he served as deputy minister of education and science in the government of Mateusz Morawiecki. He ran on the PiS list in 2023 but did not win a seat. In September 2025 he took the mandate of Marcin Przydacz, who moved to the Chancellery of President Karol Nawrocki. Rzymkowski sat as an unaffiliated deputy before joining the Demokracja Bezpośrednia circle in January 2026. Before this transfer he had already worked with Konfederacja on the Projekt27 initiative.
Where he stands on the right
Asked whether he is closer to Sławomir Mentzen's New Hope or to Krzysztof Bosak's National Movement, both of which form Konfederacja, Rzymkowski said he stands on two legs and is close to both. He said he admires the ideas of Roman Dmowski and the National Democracy movement but describes himself as a person with absolutely libertarian convictions. He added that he is slightly closer to Mentzen, with whom he has worked since returning to the Sejm. Rzymkowski presents Konfederacja as the only party of identity-based, Polish, Catholic and libertarian right, one that understands the soul of the Pole best.
Ambitions for next year
At the same press conference, deputy club chairman Michał Wawer said Konfederacja is growing stronger every month. He pointed to a long line of MPs who, in his words, want to board the Konfederacja train and ride the wave of its success. Rzymkowski said he hopes the party will become the first force of the Polish right in next year's elections.
“I want Konfederacja to become not only a leading force of the Polish right, but its first force.”
Rzymkowski also appealed directly to conservative voters who see themselves in the identity-based right to give their attention now and their vote next year to Konfederacja. With the transfer completed, the club now has 17 members, and its leadership is presenting the move as a sign of the party's growth ahead of the next parliamentary vote.
