Ronaldo and Georgina marry in secret Cascais ceremony with prenuptial agreement
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez married in a private civil ceremony on 11 August 2026 at their €35 million Cascais villa, with a prenuptial agreement specifying separation of assets signed the day before.
The ceremony
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez married in a private civil ceremony on Tuesday, 11 August 2026 at 13:30, held at their €35 million villa in the Quinta da Marinha residential area of Cascais, near Lisbon. The marriage certificate, published by the Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias, confirms that only the couple's five children (Cristiano Jr., Eva, Mateo, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda) and four witnesses were present. The ceremony was officiated by Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira, a civil official who travelled from Porto.
The four witnesses named in the certificate were Miguel Paixao, Ronaldo's friend since his Sporting Lisbon days; Ivana Rodriguez, Georgina's sister; and the Spanish couple Jose Rodriguez Sangil, a jeweller, and his wife Monica Gonzalez Martinez. The guest list of fewer than ten adults made it one of the most intimate ceremonies for a couple of this public profile.
Family absence
Ronaldo's mother Dolores Aveiro, his brother Hugo and his sisters Elma and Katia were not at the ceremony. The English tabloid The Sun reported the mother's absence, framing it as noteworthy given Dolores's longstanding role as a reference point for the footballer. Multiple Italian outlets, however, attribute the absence to the couple's wish for a strictly private event rather than any family rift. Both Dolores and Katia Aveiro reacted to the wedding announcement on social media with a heart emoji, and Katia was reportedly still at Ronaldo's Cascais home the day after the ceremony.
The wedding followed days of false speculation about a ceremony at Funchal Cathedral on the island of Madeira, which had drawn thousands of fans outside the church with no actual wedding taking place.
Prenuptial agreement
On 10 August, the day before the ceremony, Ronaldo and Georgina signed a prenuptial agreement before a notary in Lisbon. The document specifies separation of assets, meaning each spouse retains their own property and legal identity. The couple also decided to keep their pre-marriage surnames and fixed their official residence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Return to Saudi Arabia
The day after the ceremony, the couple and their children flew to Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo immediately returned to training with Al Nassr to prepare for the new season, debuting a shorter haircut with a new blonde-copper tone. He was greeted by applause from teammates and good wishes from the club's new coach, Ange Postecoglou.
The wedding came roughly one year after the couple's engagement promise and after approximately ten years together, during which the Argentine model had been waiting for Ronaldo to commit officially to marriage.
