A decade marked at home

The civil ceremony took place in the living room of their home in Cascais, a property that took seven years to build. The couple had spoken to Vogue by Zoom days before the ceremony, explaining their choice of an intimate setting over a large celebration.
Georgina told the magazine that as a child she dreamed of the biggest castle, the longest dress and a crown of diamonds, but that her priorities had changed.
I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home. Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars: we have all of that at our fingertips every day. But something intimate is rarer for us.
The ceremony and its witnesses
The ceremony was attended by the couple's five children, Cristiano Jr., Eva, Mateo, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda, whom Georgina described as the protagonists of the day. Four witnesses were present: Miguel Paixão, a friend of Ronaldo since their Sporting youth academy days; Ivana Rodríguez, Georgina's sister; and Spanish jeweler Jose Rodriguez Sangil with his wife Monica Gonzalez Martinez.
Ronaldo said he wanted the day to feel normal, special but lived normally. He also explained the choice of a private blessing over a public event, saying he tends to avoid crowded places because otherwise the crowd would make it impossible. The couple married with separation of goods, as previously reported.
Blessing at Fátima
After the ceremony the family drove about one hour to the Sanctuary of Fátima, where a priest closed a small chapel to give them a blessing. Georgina, who had visited the sanctuary before, had never been to the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows, where they celebrated the Eucharist after the blessing. She described feeling a peace and energy that she found very different from anything she had experienced before.
The day after the ceremony, Georgina confirmed it went as she had imagined.
It was exactly as I imagined. Intimate, full of love and with our family as the main role. I couldn't hold back the tears.
Fashion and photography
The looks chosen for the ceremony were signed by Gucci, the brand where the couple met a decade ago and one of their preferred luxury labels. Georgina was photographed in a pencil skirt and satin shirt, paired with a Chopard necklace and earrings, a high-jewelry brand for which she is an ambassador. The bride wore traditional white, while Ronaldo and the children appeared in cream tones. German photographer Juergen Teller captured behind-the-scenes images for Vogue, including moments of the couple in their home gym on the morning of the wedding and an emotional scene surrounded by their five children.

What comes next
There was no honeymoon after the wedding. The couple were expected to return to Saudi Arabia for the start of the sporting season for Ronaldo's club, Al Nassr. Ronaldo added that every day is a honeymoon. The couple told Vogue they plan to hold a large wedding party in the future to celebrate with family and friends. Ronaldo also left open the possibility of expanding the family, despite Georgina's reservations.
