Public warning via RO-Alert

The National Military Command Centre (nucleus), the core of Romania's military command structure, notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) to activate alert measures for the population of Tulcea county. A RO-Alert message was subsequently sent to residents, warning them of the potential aerial threat. The ministry said it would provide additional details as they became available.

The aerial targets remained in the proximity of the Danube border without entering Romanian national airspace. Shortly after the initial detection, explosions were reported on Ukrainian territory. The ministry did not identify the type of aerial targets detected on Wednesday, but the repeated drone activity near the border has kept Romanian air defences on high alert.
