AS Roma signs Rodrigo Mora from FC Porto in potential €50M agreement
AS Roma has completed the signing of 19-year-old Portuguese midfielder Rodrigo Mora from FC Porto on a contract running until 2031, paying an initial €25 million for 50% of his economic rights.
Terms of the transfer to Serie A
AS Roma and FC Porto finalized the transfer of Portuguese attacking midfielder Rodrigo Mora on 19 August 2026. Under the terms submitted to the Portuguese securities market regulator (CMVM), Roma will pay an initial fixed fee of €25 million for 50% of the 19-year-old's economic rights, with up to €2 million in performance variables. The agreement grants Roma options to acquire the remaining 50% for €25 million, while Porto retains an unconditional sell option at the identical valuation, assuring the Portuguese club at least €50 million. Porto confirmed that intermediation fees will equal 10% of the transaction amount and that no solidarity mechanism deductions will reduce the received sum. Mora committed to a five-year contract running through 2031, with an estimated net salary near €2 million per season, and will wear squad number 86.
Financial benchmarks and previous bids
The potential €50 million total package exceeds the €42 million paid for Czech forward Patrik Schick in the 2018–2019 season, representing the largest transfer expenditure in AS Roma history. The agreed valuation remains below the €63 million offer that Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad submitted in 2025 before subsequently rescinding the bid. Under the contractual terms, Porto retains the discretion either to trigger the total €50 million sale by 2027 or to preserve a percentage of the economic rights to profit from any future transfer at a higher valuation.

During his first-team tenure, the Portugal under-19 international lifted one Primeira Liga title and one Portuguese Super Cup. In his 2024–2025 breakthrough campaign under managers Vítor Bruno and Martin Anselmi, Mora recorded 11 goals and four assists across 35 fixtures. In the 2025–2026 campaign under manager Francesco Farioli, he appeared in 44 matches and scored five goals, though he saw reduced consistent starting time.
