During the press cycle for his new film Motor City, Reacher star Alan Ritchson appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and delivered a blunt diatribe about the still-undisclosed Epstein files. He said that Dax Shepard, host of Armchair Expert, had told him to "let some of that stuff go," referring to sex traffickers operating at high levels of power. Ritchson rejected that, insisting "everybody else should feel like I feel... all mad about the way things are and the abuses that are happening." He then erupted: "The Epstein files? The fucking Epstein files! God damn it! Where are they? It's a fucking law, bitch! Show it, you fucking pedophiles!"

Ritchson went on to describe his own hypothetical approach: "I would fucking railroad these fuckers. I would get those Epstein files out in two seconds. Fucking move out of the way. He also alluded to President Trump without using his name: "That bitch has the keys to the nuclear... he's all up into 13-year-olds. Dude, what? Go to jail. Go to jail."

White House rebuttal

On Friday, the White House pushed back. Spokeswoman Abigail Jackson provided a statement to Entertainment Weekly, saying: "Just as President Trump has said, he's been totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein." She listed actions Trump has taken: releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee's subpoena, signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and calling for more investigations into "Epstein's Democrat friends." Jackson added that Trump "has done more for Epstein's victims than anyone before him." She also named House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Delegate Stacey Plaskett, saying they have "yet to explain why they were soliciting money and meetings from Epstein after he was a convicted sex offender."

Just as President Trump has said, he's been totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein. And by releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee's subpoena request, signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and calling for more investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends, President Trump has done more for Epstein's victims than anyone before him.

No legal exoneration

Despite the White House's language, no court has officially exonerated Trump. The president is mentioned thousands of times in the Epstein files, and in March, the Department of Justice released previously withheld documents containing unproven accusations of sexual assault against him. That release followed months of pressure from Democratic lawmakers. The Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed by Trump, has yet to result in full public disclosure. Ritchson's call to "get those Epstein files out in two seconds" echoed the frustration of many who want full transparency about the late financier's associates.

Ritchson's political history

Ritchson, who identifies as a devout Christian and has voted Republican in the past, has become increasingly outspoken about Trump and systemic abuse. In 2024, he said, "Trump is a rapist and a con man," and criticized the Christian church for treating Trump as a "poster child." He has also come forward as a survivor of sexual abuse, describing the modeling industry as "legalized sex trafficking." His upcoming appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, not yet released, is expected to include further blunt commentary. Ritchson's press tour for Motor City seems to have become a platform for his political views, with the White House taking notice.
