Gonçalo Ramos weds Margarida Amaral in Algarve ceremony with Portugal teammates
The PSG forward and the influencer exchanged vows on Saturday at the Igreja da Ordem Terceira do Carmo in Faro, before a celebration at Casas da Quinta de Cima in Vila Nova de Cacela.
A wedding at the Carmo church
On Saturday 25 July 2026, Gonçalo Ramos and Margarida Amaral Domingues married at the Igreja da Ordem Terceira de Nossa Senhora do Monte do Carmo in Faro. The baroque and rococo church, known for its gilded woodwork and the Capela dos Ossos, was decorated with white-and-green flowers, and white fans were handed to guests to cope with the Algarve heat. After the religious ceremony, the party moved to Casas da Quinta de Cima in Vila Nova de Cacela.

The bride's entrance
Margarida Amaral Domingues walked down the aisle on her father’s arm, wearing an A-line white dress by Pureza Mello Breyner Atelier. The design featured a square neckline, wide straps and a corset-style back with covered buttons, paired with a pearl choker and earrings from Cata Vassalo. Her country bouquet of chamomile, daisies and dried spikes hid a silver chain as a tribute to her grandfather. That morning she had posted on Instagram:

The groom’s emotion and the exchange of vows
At the altar, Ramos received his bride with a kiss on the forehead and, visibly moved, wiped away a tear. The couple exchanged rings to an acoustic version of “Stand by Me” performed live, then sealed the marriage with a kiss. In the front row sat their son Bernardo, born on 6 June 2025.
A family affair with football stars
Several Portugal internationals were among the guests: João Neves, Vitinha and Pedro Neves attended with their partners. João Neves and actress Madalena Aragão served as padrinho and madrinha for the couple. The newlyweds left the church under a shower of white petals thrown by the guests.
A wedding weekend shaped by the World Cup calendar
In an April appearance on the podcast “Cala-te Boca”, Ramos revealed that the couple had to postpone the wedding because of the 2026 World Cup. He explained that the short holiday window forced many footballers to marry on the same weekend.
We have another couple who is going to marry on the same day and we were invited to that wedding. With not many holidays and the World Cup, other players who want to get married do it on the same day. There is only that weekend.
He added that his PSG teammate Lucas Hernández and his partner Victoria Triay had also picked the same date. The football calendar shaped the whole weekend: on Friday 24 July, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma married Alessia Elefante in a ceremony in Italy.
Pre-wedding dinner and social media
A day before the wedding, the bride shared pictures of a lavish pre-wedding dinner with the couple and their guests. After Saturday’s ceremony, a series of Instagram posts and videos followed, showing detailed close-ups of the bridal look, a compilation of the day, and glimpses of the couple with their son Bernardo.
