Eros Ramazzotti postpones American tour to 2027 after vocal cord surgery

Italian pop singer Eros Ramazzotti has postponed the upcoming North and South American legs of his "Una Storia Importante World Tour" following surgery on his vocal cords. The 62-year-old artist announced the procedure through his official social media accounts, explaining that medical instructions require him to undergo a dedicated vocal rehabilitation program. The medical recovery timeline makes it impossible for Ramazzotti to carry out tour rehearsals or meet the planned autumn schedule across the western hemisphere. Italian concert agency Friends & Partners confirmed that the surgical intervention was successful.

Ramazzotti addressed his audience directly on Instagram stories to explain the medical hiatus and offer gratitude for public support.

The vocal cord surgery went well. Thank you all for the messages of affection and closeness you sent me. However, my doctor has prescribed a rehabilitation program that will not allow me to be ready for rehearsals and departure for dates in the US, Canada, and Latin America, for which we unfortunately will have to wait until 2027. We will meet again stronger and more united than before.

Tour schedule modifications and cancellations

The postponement disrupts 17 live shows across North, Central, and South America that were initially scheduled to run from mid-October through 30 November 2026. Under the original routing, the American leg was planned to begin in Toronto on 16 October 2026 and finish in São Paulo, Brazil. The rescheduled calendar shifts the entire tour leg to autumn 2027, with the new run launching on 24 September 2027 in Toronto and concluding on 9 November 2027 in São Paulo.

The updated 2027 itinerary includes North American concerts in Toronto, Montreal, Boston, New York, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles. Latin American stops will visit Mexico City, Bogotá, Lima, Santiago, and Buenos Aires before the final show in São Paulo. Two previously scheduled tour stops, in Guadalajara, Mexico, and San José, Costa Rica, have been cancelled entirely without replacement dates. Purchased tickets for the postponed concerts will remain valid for the 2027 performances, with the exception of the New York show, where ticket purchases will be refunded automatically.

Tour history and previous vocal complications

The "Una Storia Importante" tour began in Paris in February 2026, with an initial schedule of 55 performances across Europe, North America, Canada, and Latin America through late 2026. Ramazzotti concluded the European segment of the world tour in late June 2026 with a stadium concert in Turin. The singer had previously cancelled a separate performance earlier in 2026 before entering the summer break.

The recent surgery is the second vocal cord operation of Ramazzotti's touring career. In May 2019, the performer paused his "Vita ce n'è World Tour" for two months after undergoing surgery to treat vocal cord thickening, which similarly forced the delay of his American tour dates at the time. The singer also had to postpone a tour launch in Germany several years earlier because of acute laryngitis.
