Orlen contract with Polish Football Association expires as renewal talks continue
Orlen branding will be removed from Polish national team training gear and press walls during the upcoming camp following the expiration of its general sponsorship agreement with PZPN.
Immediate branding removal for upcoming training camp
The Polish Football Association (PZPN) has announced that its primary sponsorship contract with Polish energy group Orlen S.A. has formally expired. The conclusion of the agreement directly affects the upcoming training camp of the Polish national football team, which begins without active commercial commitments between the two organizations. Because no binding contract currently exists, the federation will suspend all promotional services and brand visibility associated with the company throughout the upcoming national team gathering. Both PZPN and Orlen representatives confirm that bilateral talks regarding the continuation of their commercial relationship remain active, though no new contractual terms have been signed yet.
The current agreement between the Polish Football Association and ORLEN S.A. has expired. Talks regarding the continuation of cooperation are currently underway.
Scope of suspended promotional rights and player imagery
The formal expiration removes Orlen branding across all physical, digital, and media environments connected to the national football squad. The corporate logo will not appear on national team training kits, press conference interview backdrops, stadium advertising displays, or official promotional and media communications. In addition to physical signage and venue advertising, the energy group has lost the legal right to feature Polish national team footballers and their likenesses in its own corporate advertising campaigns. These promotional restrictions will remain in effect for the duration of the upcoming training camp and all related team activities until a new contract is agreed upon and ratified.
In connection with the above, during the starting training camp of the Polish national team, sponsorship services resulting from the previous cooperation, including brand exposure, will not be provided.
Supervisory board review slows four-year contract talks
Before the contract concluded, PZPN and Orlen had been negotiating a four-year agreement to extend their commercial partnership across the next tournament cycle. Negotiators from the federation and the energy company had moved close to finalizing the deal, but the timetable slowed down after the proposed contract draft was submitted to Orlen's supervisory board for formal corporate review. Officials from both organizations confirm that discussions over future cooperation are proceeding, though neither side has established a specific date for a formal signing ceremony. The football association announced that it will issue a separate official release once the ongoing negotiations produce a definitive outcome.

Changes in the federation sponsorship portfolio
Orlen originally assumed the role of General Sponsor of Polish football at the start of 2023 under a contract structured for nearly four years. Under the terms of that 2023 agreement, the energy corporation provided financial and promotional backing for 11 national teams across various age groups, as well as selected tournaments and development programs administered by PZPN. The conclusion of the Orlen contract follows another recent transition in the federation's commercial partner roster. At the end of July 2026, the sponsorship agreement between PZPN and logistics company InPost Group also expired, clearing the way for sports betting operator STS to step in as the strategic sponsor of the national team.
