Birth in Paris

The 45-year-old actor Natalie Portman has given birth to her third child, her first with partner Tanguy Destable. The birth occurred in late August 2026 in Paris, where the actor has centered a significant part of her personal life. The newborn joins Portman's two older children from her previous marriage to director and choreographer Benjamin Millepied: 15-year-old son Aleph and 9-year-old daughter Amalia. Portman, who won an Academy Award for her performance in Black Swan and starred in films such as Thor: Love and Thunder and V for Vendetta, has consistently maintained a private profile, sharing personal updates on selective terms.

Relationship and French connection

Portman's partner, Tanguy Destable, is a French music producer. Public reports regarding the couple first emerged in the French media outlet Voici before their relationship was officially confirmed in March 2025. While the timeline of when the two first met remains undisclosed, their partnership led to Portman establishing a regular life in the French capital. The birth in Paris marks the couple's first child together following the public confirmation of their relationship.

Pregnancy announcement

Portman announced that she was expecting a child in April 2026 during a conversation with Harper's Bazaar magazine. In that interview, the actor expressed deep appreciation for the pregnancy alongside Destable.

“Tanguy and I are very excited. I just feel very grateful. I know it is such a great privilege and a miracle.”

Portman also addressed the broader emotional landscape surrounding conception, pointing out how difficult pregnancy can be for many families and emphasizing her respect for those struggles.

“I grew up hearing how hard it is to get pregnant. There are so many people I love who had a really hard time with this and I want to be respectful. It is something so beautiful and joyful, but at the same time it is not easy. That is why I know how lucky I am. I realize it and I am incredibly grateful.”

Reflections on motherhood and time

During the same interview, Portman spoke about how her perception of the world and motherhood shifted over the years between her earlier pregnancies and her third. She described a sense of personal calm that came with greater self-knowledge, clarity about her environment, and awareness of the fleeting nature of the experience.

“There is a sense of gratitude that, when you are young, you do not necessarily realize. There is a calm and you know yourself really well: who you want to spend time with, what kind of energy you want to be surrounded by, which makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing that it is probably the last time, I appreciate every moment.”

With the arrival of the newborn, Portman now raises three children alongside Destable in Paris, balancing her family life with her career.
