Aris signs Argentine winger Sebastian Palacios on two-year deal, targets European return

The signing

Aris FC announced the acquisition of Sebastian Palacios on a two-year contract on 24 July 2026. The 34-year-old Argentine winger arrived in Thessaloniki that morning for medical tests before putting pen to paper. He will then travel to Italy to join the squad's pre-season training under coach Michalis Grigoriou.

Career path

Palacios, born on 20 January 1992 in Juan Bautista Alberdi, Argentina, began his professional career at Boca Juniors in 2013. He later played for Union Santa Fe, Arsenal Sarandi, Talleres, Pachuca, Independiente, and Newell's Old Boys. In 2021 he moved to Greece with Panathinaikos, where he made 120 appearances, scored 26 goals, and won two Greek Cups (2022, 2024). After a brief return to Talleres in 2024, he rejoined the Greek league with Levadiakos for the 2025-26 season, recording 36 matches, 8 goals, and 8 assists.

Player's ambitions

In his first statements as an Aris player, Palacios stressed his awareness of the club's stature. "I know very well that I am coming to a team with great momentum and very warm fans. I have been in Greece for years, I have played against Aris and I know where I have come to," he said. He set a clear target: "To go as high as possible in the league and of course to return to Europe. I am optimistic and believe we will have a very good season."
