Given the potential blast and fire risks associated with the diesel cargo, authorities ordered the evacuation of employees at an Orlen petrol station located on Kopernika Street near the tunnel shortly after 12:30. Police officers remained stationed at surrounding intersections to direct drivers away from the cordoned district.

Despite the extensive street closures and the presence of counter-terrorist personnel in the city centre, regional rail services avoided operational paralysis. Tomasz Łotowski, press spokesperson for national railway infrastructure manager PKP PLK, confirmed that the emergency response on the siding caused no disruptions to regular passenger or cargo train traffic passing through the station. The operational focus remained confined to the isolated siding track where the detached tanker was positioned.
