Codacons files complaint over €10,000 Oasis Rome tickets as police warn of online fraud

Secondary market surge and legal filings

Hours after the opening of the official ticket allocation, listings for the Oasis reunion dates in Rome appeared on secondary ticketing platforms at elevated prices. Consumer protection association Codacons reported that individual ticket listings for the 26 July 2027 performance at the Stadio Olimpico reached nearly €10,000 on Saturday morning. For the band's other scheduled Rome dates on 29 and 30 July, secondary asking prices ranged between €5,000 and €7,000 per ticket.

Codacons noted that the top asking price represents an increase of more than 1,400% compared to the most expensive official ticket tier, the Pre-Show Fan Experience priced at €651.36. In response, the consumer group announced formal filings with the Rome Public Prosecutor, the Postal Police, and the communications authority AGCOM. The organization asked authorities to intervene with urgency to block websites reselling tickets at inflated rates and to investigate potential criminal offenses against consumers.

Official sale structure and price gaps

The authorized sale for the three Rome concerts is structured across three days, beginning on Friday 25 September 2026 and concluding on Sunday 27 September 2026. Organizers arranged three separate purchase windows each day, informing registered fans by email of their allocated time slot. Standard official ticket prices for the Italian performances are fixed between €92.29 and €276.86, including platform booking fees.

Despite the private code distribution system, unofficial marketplaces listed entries well above official caps. On the platform Vinted, a general admission standing ticket for the 29 July concert was listed at €800, rising to €840.70 with platform service fees. The standard official price for the general admission parterre section is approximately €207.

Police warnings on fraudulent codes and clone sites

The State Police issued widespread fraud alerts on institutional social media channels and WhatsApp. Investigators advised consumers to purchase exclusively through authorized channels, avoid transferring money to private individuals without verifying legitimacy, and disregard offers from unknown sellers on social platforms. Authorities clarified that access codes distributed to registered fans are unique, personal, and non-transferable.

Law enforcement also warned of phishing risks and fraudulent clone websites designed to harvest personal information and credit card details. When duplicated tickets are sold on secondary markets, only the first individual presenting the barcode at stadium turnstiles gains entry.
