Spain's meteorological agency AEMET predicts a day of variable cloud and scattered light rain across northern municipalities on Friday, with temperatures holding steady before a warmer, sunnier weekend.
Northern regions: light rain and cloud
A band of unsettled weather will affect Spain's northern coast and interior on Friday, according to the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET). In Irun (Guipúzcoa), the day will begin with very cloudy skies and light rain, with drizzle of around 0.1 litres per square metre expected at 09:00. Conditions will transition to high clouds during the rest of the day. Maximum temperatures will reach 20 degrees, with minimums around 13. Winds will be light from the north.
Nearby San Sebastián will see very cloudy skies with light rain from dawn until 06:00, then cloudy with light rain until midday, ending with high clouds. Drizzle of 0.8 litres per square metre is forecast around 05:00. Maximum temperatures will be 20 degrees and minimums 13. In Pontevedra, the morning will start with partly cloudy skies before cloud increases from 06:00, with rain arriving after 18:00. Maximums will reach 19 degrees, minimums 9.
Central and inland areas
Salamanca will experience cloudy skies until midday, giving way to high clouds for the rest of Friday. Temperatures will remain stable at 26 degrees maximum and 10 degrees minimum, with a thermal sensation around 8 degrees. Winds will be calm from the west. León will see partly cloudy skies in the early hours, with cloud increasing from first thing in the morning before returning to a partly cloudy scenario. Maximums will reach 23 degrees, while minimums will drop to 6.
In Huesca, the day will be marked by variable weather: clear skies during the early morning, increasing cloud from 06:00, then high clouds until 18:00 when cloud cover will decrease. Temperatures will reach 26 degrees maximum and 11 minimum. Lleida will start clear until 06:00, then cloud will increase to high clouds until 18:00, becoming partly cloudy by nightfall. Maximums will be 28 degrees, minimums 15.
Southern and eastern outlook
Murcia will present clear skies until 06:00, after which cloud will increase to overcast conditions until 18:00, then overcast with light rain until nightfall. Maximum temperatures will drop to around 29 degrees at 16:00, while minimums will hold at 20, with a maximum thermal sensation of 31 degrees. Light easterly breezes are expected.
Other municipalities in the south and east will see more stable conditions. In Garrucha, skies will be partly cloudy until midday, then intervals of cloud. Albacete will have overcast skies, with temperatures between 15 and 28 degrees. Zaragoza will start with partly cloudy skies until midday, then high clouds, with temperatures ranging from 13 to 28 degrees.
Weekend outlook: warming and clearing
Saturday will bring a gradual improvement. In Irun, intervals of cloud with light rain are expected from dawn until midday, with rain ceasing and cloud increasing after 12:00. Maximums will rise to 22 degrees. San Sebastián will be cloudy with light rain from dawn until midday, with cloud thickening afterwards; temperatures will reach 21 degrees maximum and 14 minimum. Pontevedra will see overcast skies with rain from dawn until midday, then rain stopping and cloud reducing after 12:00, with temperatures between 13 and 23 degrees.
Salamanca will be clear from dawn until midday, with cloud increasing after 12:00. Maximums will reach 28 degrees. Huesca will be predominantly partly cloudy, with temperatures rising to 30 degrees maximum and 15 minimum. Murcia will have intervals of cloud until midday, then increasing cloud, with maximum temperatures rising.
Sunday will be the best day of the period. No precipitation is expected across most locations. Irun will see few clouds from dawn, then intervals of cloud, with maximums reaching 26 degrees. San Sebastián will have few clouds giving way to intervals of cloud, with maximums of 24. Salamanca will reach 32 degrees, Huesca 31, and Murcia 31. Pontevedra will be partly cloudy from dawn, becoming clear, with temperatures between 11 and 25 degrees. León will reach 29 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Oviedo will start very cloudy until midday, becoming partly cloudy, with weak showers around midnight. Siero will be very cloudy in the first part of the day and partly cloudy from 12:00, with possible morning drizzle.
In Catalonia, Tarragona will see cloudy skies with rain until midday, then high clouds, with light morning drizzle. Barcelona and Girona are listed among other municipalities with forecasts available. In Galicia, A Coruña will have high clouds until 12:00 and intervals of cloud with light rain during the rest of Friday, with temperatures between 12 and 22 degrees. Ourense will see high clouds from dawn until midday, then intervals of cloud, with temperatures from 9 to 23 degrees.
