The announcement
New Democracy named six women on Monday, 19 October, as candidates for its ballots in the 2027 parliamentary elections. The party said the decision was taken by Prime Minister and party leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and it issued the list as a formal statement giving each candidate's constituency and profession. None of the six stood in the 2023 elections, which makes the group new to the party's national ballots. The operative sentence of the statement reads in English as follows:
“By decision of the Prime Minister and New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, it is announced that the following will be included on the party's ballots for the 2027 parliamentary elections.”

Open questions
The articles do not give a date for the 2027 elections beyond the year itself. They also do not say how many further names the party will announce or when, and they give no order for the six listed candidates. Only these six names and their constituencies are confirmed, so the remaining seats in the country are not covered by this statement.
