The victim
Ceccantini worked at Prada's Valvigna plant in Terranuova Bracciolini, in the province of Arezzo, where she had been employed for many years. A pattern of Italian fatalities on Mykonos
Mykonos has been the site of several fatal incidents involving young Italian tourists in recent years, often linked to rented vehicles and the island's challenging roads. Documented cases include Carlotta Martellini, 18, from Perugia, who died in a crash in July 2020 while celebrating her graduation; Giulia Grasso, 22, from Naples, who was strangled by her own scarf when it caught in the gears of a rented quad bike in 2013; Antonio Borrelli, 21, also from Naples, who died in a jet-ski accident near Superparadise beach in August 2019; Simone Scipio, 29, a police officer from Rome, killed in a quad-bike collision with a parked van in July 2019, a 2026 forensic report later concluded a colleague was driving; and Stefano Raimondi, 20, from Lodi, who died after being struck with a bottle during a nightclub brawl in 2011.
