Launch and pricing

Motorola has announced the Signature 27, the successor to the original Signature that launched in January. The phone is an attempt at an all-out flagship with a slab-style body, a design direction the company has not tried in the modern smartphone era. In the United States the 512GB and 12GB RAM configuration costs $1,599, the same price as the 512GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, while Samsung's 256GB S26 Ultra sells for $1,399. The model has now been officially presented in Spain, and in Poland the same 12GB and 512GB version is priced at 7599 zł. Polish pre-orders open on 16 November 2026 and regular sales begin on 23 November. Buyers who order during the launch offer, which runs until 13 January 2027, receive extras worth 2400 zł, including a year of screen protection with free replacement, a 125W charger, a moto watch and a moto sound flow Bluetooth speaker, plus three years of door-to-door warranty.

Display, battery and cameras

The 6.8-inch tandem OLED screen uses two light-emitting layers, and Motorola claims a peak brightness of 12,000 nits, which the company describes as the brightest display available in a smartphone. The Polish specification sheet lists the panel as a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision certification. The 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. Against the Galaxy S26 Ultra's 5,000mAh battery and 2,600-nit peak brightness, the Signature 27 leads on both counts. The iPhone 18 Pro Max, with 5,567mAh (or 5,391mAh in models with a removable SIM card) and 3,000 nits, trails the Signature 27 on both measures but sits above the Galaxy S26 Ultra on each.

The camera array is built around a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia L910 sensor with LOFIC technology, a design expected to deliver plenty of dynamic range. It is joined by a 200-megapixel 3x telephoto camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide and an Event Vision Sensor, or EVS, which detects movement at the pixel level to capture fast-moving subjects. A 50-megapixel front camera completes the setup. Audio is tuned by Bang & Olufsen. The one notable omission in the feature set is the lack of built-in Qi2 magnets.

Chipset, build and software

The Signature 27 runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, which was announced in September and sits a generation ahead of the chip in the Galaxy S26 series. Motorola uses an ArcticMesh vapour chamber covering 8,384 square millimetres, filled with a gel containing diamond microparticles, to help prevent performance throttling during long gaming sessions or 8K video rendering. The phone weighs 227 grams and is under 8 millimetres thick, with an aerospace aluminium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the front. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings and MIL-STD-810H certification. The rear comes in Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive, both Pantone colours with textured finishes.

The phone ships with Android 17 and support for Gemini Intelligence, and the Polish listing cites seven system updates and seven years of security patches. It also supports GrapheneOS, a privacy-focused operating system that had until now run only on Google Pixel devices. The Signature 27 is the first Motorola phone to offer GrapheneOS, and the first mainstream phone sold in the US with it.

What the numbers mean for buyers

In the US, the Signature 27 competes directly with the Galaxy S26 Ultra at the same starting price for the 512GB model. The specification sheet gives the Motorola a clear lead on battery capacity and peak brightness, but those figures are manufacturer claims. Motorola's efficiency claims for the dual-layer panel still need to be checked in day-to-day use, since the company says the layered design limits power draw and heat at maximum brightness. Polish buyers face a different calculation, with the 7599 zł price offset during the promotion by a bundle that runs until 13 January 2027.
