Mina to release unreleased archival album Dilettevoli inedite eccedenze on 9 October
Italian singer Mina will issue a ten-track album of unreleased recordings and restored catalogue music through the PDU label on 9 October 2026.
Archival selections and new studio material
Italian singer Mina will release her new album, Dilettevoli inedite eccedenze, on 9 October 2026 through the PDU record label. The ten-track collection is the third volume in an archival series that brings unreleased recordings and shelved material out of the singer's vaults. While previous volumes gathered commercial jingles, rarities, and B-sides, this release features nine previously unreleased interpretations alongside one restored catalogue track. The material spans more than five decades of studio work, ranging from a 1974 recording to a session recorded in the spring of 2026. The recordings did not undergo re-tracking or modern digital overhauls, with engineers limiting technical interventions to cleaning defects and magnetic tape noise.
Milan preview and presentation
On 6 October 2026, producer Massimiliano Pani Mazzini presented the record during an advance listening session at the Voce space inside the Triennale di Milano. Pani Mazzini, who officially added his mother's surname to his own in the summer of 2025, framed the gathering around Mina's recorded catalogue.
You are here to listen to an artist who hasn't made a public appearance in fifty years, yet her credibility remains intact: her life's work has been her music.
The 86-year-old artist, who stepped back from live concerts and television broadcasts in 1978, maintains active studio production. The physical release is accompanied by a booklet containing twelve previously unpublished archival photographs, curated by Mina and photographer Mauro Balletti.
Repertoire across decades and languages
The tracklist covers a wide stylistic range, mixing pop standards, folk tradition, and foreign-language material without adhering to chart-driven formulas. It features Canzone triste, recorded in 1974 and kept in the vault since then, alongside two compositions by Pino Daniele: Yes I Know My Way from 1981 and Vento di passione, a 2007 song recorded by Mina in the spring of 2026. Folk and traditional entries include the Sicilian-dialect song Carrettieri, composed by Alfonso Gibilaro and recorded in 1949 by Beniamino Gigli, and Viernu, written in 1945 by Vincenzo Acampora. Pani explained the artistic philosophy behind selecting obscure pieces for the release.
Mina's cover records are not just hits one after another, but also songs that did not have success, yet according to her should have had it.
The album also includes Jimmy Fontana's 1967 song contest winner La mia serenata, Henri Salvador's Dans mon île, a flamenco interpretation of the Beatles' Eleanor Rigby, and Fausto Leali's 1980 track A costo di morire, which played at the Giorgio Armani runway show on 1 March 2026. The only previously released selection is Ivano Fossati's Settembre, originally issued as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of their 2019 collaboration album and reintroduced after falling out of print.

Career scale and active production
Across her career, Mina has published 1,427 songs and released 107 albums. Pani Mazzini noted that she continues to review between 3,000 and 4,000 unsolicited song submissions every year, contacting writers directly when material catches her attention. Her ongoing studio schedule also includes collaborations with younger artists, such as her past duet with Blanco, reflecting an active routine that rules out retirement from recording.
