Miley reveals 10th studio album Bass Persuades and sets Hollywood Bowl dates

Pop singer Miley announced her tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, scheduled for release on 18 September via Atlantic Records. The 33-year-old artist appears to have dropped her surname for this promotional cycle, presenting herself mononymously as Miley across social platforms and promotional material. The rollout began with a wrap-around cover advertisement in the Los Angeles Times featuring her face and first name, followed by social media posts unveiling the album artwork. The black-and-white cover photograph displays the singer from the shoulders up, wearing dark eye makeup and holding a white rose in her mouth.

The project is accompanied by collaborative visual work, including a special issue of Wonderland Magazine guest-edited by the artist, shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti, and styled by creative director Alastair McKimm alongside Mert Alas. A promotional teaser video showed the musician in a white jumpsuit holding a Fender Stratocaster against a synth-driven electronic instrumental. In an online statement accompanying the reveal, the singer outlined the emotional range behind the project.

Tracklist and Hollywood Bowl concerts

The standard release of Bass Persuades contains ten tracks, including collaborations with Brooklyn band Model/Actriz on "Different Religion" and Miike Snow member Andrew Wyatt on "Neon Signs". Alongside the album release, the singer announced two headline concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on 16 October and 18 October, where she plans to perform the new record in full. These dates represent her first full-length concerts in the United States since 2021, with Model/Actriz serving as the opening act.

Ticket distribution begins with an American Express presale on 8 September at 10 a.m. PT, followed by artist and Spotify presales on 9 September. General ticket availability opens on 10 September at 10 a.m. PT through Ticketmaster and the artist's official website. In social posts about the Los Angeles venue, the singer noted her personal history as an audience member at the amphitheater.

The Hollywood Bowl is my favorite place to experience music and see my favorite artists. I've sat in those seats many times, but I've never taken the stage. LA is my heart and I'm bringing it home.

Label move and recent projects

Bass Persuades marks the artist's first full-length album with Atlantic Records following a tenure at Columbia Records. Her previous studio releases include the May 2025 album Something Beautiful, which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200, and 2023's Endless Summer Vacation, which produced the Grammy-winning single Flowers that led the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks. Between releases, the singer issued an expanded edition of Something Beautiful with contributions from David Byrne and Lindsey Buckingham, recorded an original track for James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash, and participated in a Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special.

In a Wonderland discussion with actor Daryl Hannah, the singer described her recording approach as following intuition and collaborative momentum rather than rigid structure. The campaign also coincides with a period of personal loss following the death of her godmother, country singer Dolly Parton, who died at age 80 in Nashville, Tennessee. The artist shared that their final conversations centered on music and metamorphosis, continuing a relationship that previously included co-hosting the Lorne Michaels-produced Miley's New Year's Eve Party.
