
Two dead in Bremen street and basement as suspect flees
German police are hunting a suspect after a man was found stabbed to death on a street and a woman dead in a cellar in the Fähr-Lobbendorf district of Bremen on Friday afternoon. The murder squad has taken over the investigation.
Discovery of the victims
Around 2 p.m. local time on Friday, residents of Fähr-Lobbendorf, a neighbourhood in Bremen’s Vegesack borough, called emergency services after hearing a man screaming in the street. Responding officers found the man with severe stab and cut wounds on the open road. Despite immediate rescue attempts, he died at the scene. During the operation, police discovered the body of a woman in the basement of a nearby apartment building. Both are believed to be victims of a violent crime, though the exact circumstances of the woman’s death remain under investigation.
