Police launch extensive manhunt for 19-year-old after death of ex-girlfriend in Małopolska
A 19-year-old woman died on Monday evening in the Mszana Dolna municipality after what police describe as an argument with her ex-partner. The suspect, 19-year-old Kacper Wójtowicz, fled the scene and is the subject of a large-scale search involving drones, dogs, and roadblocks.
Incident in Mszana Dolna
Around 22:20 on 15 June 2026, 19-year-old Kacper Wójtowicz arrived at the place where his ex-girlfriend was staying in the Mszana Dolna municipality, according to a statement from the Limanowa police. An argument reportedly broke out between the two, during which the man attacked the woman and caused serious injuries. Before officers arrived, Wójtowicz fled on foot. Despite a rescue operation, the 19-year-old woman died at the scene.
Despite the rescue operation, the life of the 19-year-old was not saved.
Police search and response
The police have launched an intensive manhunt. Officers from the criminal division, prevention units, dog handlers, and specialised search groups are involved, including personnel from neighbouring units. Roadblocks have been set up in the area, vehicles are being checked, and the terrain is being searched using drones. The search zone is challenging.

Public appeal
Authorities have released the suspect's photograph and details, asking anyone with information about Wójtowicz's whereabouts to contact emergency number 112 or the nearest police station immediately. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
