Man, 34, stable after six-metre fall inside Madrid warehouse during family party
A 34-year-old man is stable and awaiting surgery after accidentally falling from a height of six metres during a family celebration inside a warehouse in the Villaverde district of Madrid.
The incident
The fall occurred on Saturday inside a warehouse on Calle Ciudad de Frías, in the Marconi industrial estate of Madrid's Villaverde district. A family celebration was underway when the man, aged 34, lost his footing and dropped approximately six metres. The time of the accident is reported as around 19:00 by Samur-Protección Civil and as roughly 19:30 by Emergencias Madrid.
At around 7:00 p.m. we received a call at the Marconi industrial estate, specifically on Calle Ciudad de Frías, where a lively family celebration was taking place and a 34-year-old man fell from a height of about 6 metres.
Injuries and medical response
Samur-PC paramedics stabilised the patient on site. Injuries included head trauma, an elbow fracture, a suspected pelvic fracture, and the amputation of one finger. He was then transferred to the Replantation Unit at Hospital La Paz, with Municipal Police escorting the ambulance.
Current condition
The man is in a stable condition, awaiting surgery. No further updates on his prognosis have been released.
