Emergency response and confrontation
Police officers arrived at a residential building in Sucy-en-Brie, located in the Val-de-Marne department southeast of Paris, during the night between Saturday and Sunday following reports of domestic violence. Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers observed a man knocking at the entrance door of an apartment. Another man, identified as the resident's brother, opened the door and struck the knocking individual in the face before shutting the door again. Moments later, the suspect reopened the door, lunged at his brother, and continued beating him in the presence of the police officers.
The officers immediately intervened to halt the physical assault and detain the aggressor. The man resisted arrest with force, lightly injuring six police officers during the struggle. None of the injured officers required hospital treatment for their injuries. To subdue the suspect and bring the altercation under control, officers deployed an electric stun gun a single time. Following the confrontation, police placed the suspect under arrest and took him into custody.
Apartment inspection and discovery of victim
After securing the suspect outside the entrance, police officers entered the residence to inspect the premises and locate any other occupants. Inside the apartment, they discovered the lifeless body of a woman. Emergency medical services were unable to revive her, as she had died prior to their arrival at the scene.
The deceased victim displayed physical trauma, including a bruised face and a large wound to her throat. During a further examination of the residence, officers conducted a search of the suspect's bedroom, where they found and seized a kitchen knife. Police sources indicated that the deceased victim was the mother of the detained suspect and his brother.
