Police arrest six gang members over February attack
National Police officers and Madrid Municipal Police arrested six men in connection with the February stabbing of a former gang leader in the Latina district of Madrid. The victim, identified as Fernando S. B. A. and known by the alias Nene, was attacked on the night of 20 February on Avenida del Padre Piquer, near number 3. Investigators reported that the suspects belonged to the Latina chapter of the Dominican Don't Play gang. The confrontation occurred in a nightlife area frequented by youth, where assailants used bladed weapons and firearms during the altercation. The attackers exited a vehicle and stabbed the victim from behind with a large bladed weapon, inflicting two penetrating wounds to his back.
Feud and background behind the Latina stabbing
The victim, aged 33 according to police sources and 34 in court reporting, previously headed the Alcobendas chapter of the Dominican Don't Play gang. In 2021, he received a nine-year prison sentence for a killing committed during the 2017 San Agustín de Guadalix festivities. Investigators stated that members of the Latina chapter recognized him while he was walking outside his territorial area, initiating the attack as part of internal disputes between rival chapters within the organization. Following the assault, the victim spent several weeks in the intensive care unit of a Madrid hospital with severe injuries before surviving and receiving his medical discharge.
Residential searches and seized evidence
Joint police teams identified the car used during the February assault and tracked the individuals inside. On 11 August, officers executed six search warrants at residential addresses tied to the suspects across Madrid. The raids uncovered illicit narcotics, simulated firearms, bladed weapons, cash, mobile phones, and numerous SIM cards. Officers also seized clothing and documentation linking the occupants to violent youth gangs and drug trafficking networks. The six detained men, who hold Romanian, Colombian, Argentine, and Spanish nationalities of Ecuadorian heritage, face charges of causing bodily injury, membership in a criminal organization, and offenses against public health. Judicial authorities took custody of all six individuals following the arrests.

Separate triple stabbing in Puente de Vallecas
In a separate incident on the night of 11 September, emergency services responded to a violent stabbing inside an apartment on Calle Enrique Velasco in the Puente de Vallecas district. The Madrid emergency center received the initial alert at 22:01. Emergency medical teams from SUMMA112 treated an 18-year-old male who sustained incised wounds to his thigh and arm alongside head trauma. Paramedics stabilized the teenager on scene before transporting him in serious condition to Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre. Personnel from SAMUR-Protección Civil treated two other men who suffered light injuries in the same encounter, transferring one to Hospital 12 de Octubre and the other to Hospital Gregorio Marañón. The National Police opened an investigation into the Puente de Vallecas assault to establish the motives and locate the perpetrators.
