Lyon moves clear at the top of the table
Lyon moved to the top of the Top 14 standings following a 51-25 bonus-point win over Section Paloise. The victory gave the club 14 points after three consecutive wins to open the season, having previously defeated Clermont and Racing 92. The defeat halted Pau's early momentum in the league. Toulouse and Union Bordeaux-Bègles sit behind Lyon with 10 points each, while Montpellier holds third place with 9 points.

Bonus victories for Bordeaux-Bègles, Montpellier, and Bayonne
Union Bordeaux-Bègles closed the third round with a 40-10 victory over Stade Français on Sunday evening at Stade Chaban-Delmas, collecting an attacking bonus point. Montpellier also earned five match points by beating USA Perpignan 50-13, a result that moved Montpellier to 9 points and pushed Perpignan into the lower half of the standings.
At Stade Jean-Dauger, Aviron Bayonnais defeated ASM Clermont 46-24 to claim an offensive bonus point and preserve their home record. Clermont played the final 26 minutes with 14 players after Argentine forward Marcos Kremer received a red card in the 54th minute.
Racing 92 secures away win in La Rochelle
Racing 92 rebounded from back-to-back losses against Bordeaux-Bègles and Lyon by winning 20-10 against Stade Rochelais at Stade Marcel Deflandre. The result ended La Rochelle's positive start, which had featured consecutive wins against Toulouse and Toulon. Racing 92 took control during a subdued encounter, securing four points in the standings and handing the hosts their first home loss of the campaign.

Following the match between Bordeaux-Bègles and Stade Français, UBB coach Shaun Sowerby commented on his squad's second-half response after a tighter opening period.
Despite the frustration of the first half, we are happy to have returned in the second with a different attitude, with much more commitment. We were able to find solutions. Afterwards, we still have a lot of work to do. We faced a team of fighters, very difficult to play against. Every week is different. We use defeats to question ourselves and improve. But this success does not erase the defeat in Toulouse.
UBB back row Marko Gazzotti stated that the team had to increase its physical commitment after trailing in intensity during the previous weekend's loss at Toulouse, noting that the upcoming match at Perpignan will demand a similar approach. Stade Français manager Paul Gustard pointed to a recurring drop in performance after half-time, comparing Sunday's display to their earlier 28-26 match against Perpignan.
Right now, we have a problem with second halves. It was the same in the match against Perpignan (28-26). We are looking for solutions regarding that. Effort is good, but you need precision with it.
