Man run over and killed in Milan parking lot after love dispute, suspect arrested
A 31-year-old man was arrested after driving his car into a 40 or 41-year-old rival during a confrontation over a woman in Zibido San Giacomo, near Milan, on Sunday night. The victim had fired two blank shots before being struck.
The meeting
On the evening of Sunday, June 21, Claudio Miranda and Stefano Pasceri arranged to meet in the parking lot outside the cemetery of Zibido San Giacomo, a municipality south of Milan, to discuss a personal matter concerning a woman. Miranda, a 40 or 41-year-old of Neapolitan origins, arrived with three acquaintances, while Pasceri came with his father. The encounter, initially intended to clarify the situation, quickly turned violent.
The confrontation
According to a preliminary reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Abbiategrasso company, supported by surveillance camera footage, Miranda drew a blank-firing pistol during the discussion and fired two shots in the direction of Pasceri's father. Almost immediately, Pasceri, who had remained in his vehicle, accelerated and struck Miranda, pinning him against the door of the other car. The impact killed him instantly. Emergency services arrived shortly afterward (the 118 medical unit had been dispatched in code red), but paramedics could only confirm Miranda's death at the scene.
Investigation and arrest
Carabinieri arrested Pasceri at the scene on charges of voluntary homicide; some sources describe the charge as aggravated homicide. The investigation is being coordinated by the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office, with the Milan provincial command also involved. Investigators are examining whether the car-ramming was an impulsive reaction to the perceived threat or a deliberate act.
