Lawsuit filed over decade of public statements
Former Spanish tennis player Feliciano López has filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife, television presenter and model Alba Carrillo, alleging unlawful intrusion into his right to honor and personal privacy. The legal action, submitted in August 2026 at a court in Pozuelo de Alarcón, was recently admitted for judicial processing. López instructed his legal team to compile public statements, interviews, and television appearances made by Carrillo over the past ten years. A previous attempt to initiate legal proceedings in 2017 was paused while his lawyers assembled a larger dossier of Carrillo's media remarks.

Motives and requested remedies
The lawsuit does not seek financial compensation or damages of any kind. According to details shared on the television program Y ahora Sonsoles, the legal action aims exclusively to obtain an order prohibiting Carrillo from speaking about López or mentioning him in public media. López also seeks to shield his current wife, model Sandra Gago, and their two sons, five-year-old Darío and two-year-old Marco, from further media commentary. Television contributor Pilar Vidal confirmed the non-monetary focus of the filing during a broadcast on Antena 3.
He has no financial interest, the only thing he wants is for her to be quiet, to never speak about him again.
Television contributor Tamara Gorro also reported speaking directly with López, who stated that he places full trust in the legal system and will await the judicial ruling.
History of the dispute
The legal clash follows a decade of friction dating back to the couple's brief marriage. López and Carrillo began their relationship in 2013 and married in July 2015. The marriage ended eleven months later, in May 2016, after which Carrillo made repeated television appearances detailing allegations of infidelity and personal conduct. Over the following years, Carrillo used terms such as "papanatas," "patético," and "infiel" when referring to López on television. Her public commentary also extended to López's parents, including assertions regarding his mother's involvement in his affairs.
Responses from Carrillo and her family
Carrillo addressed the lawsuit in remarks to the magazine Semana, stating that she has not yet received formal notification from the court. The procedural delay stems from territorial jurisdiction rules, as the lawsuit was filed in Pozuelo de Alarcón where López is registered, whereas Carrillo resides in a different administrative district of Madrid. Carrillo indicated she remains calm regarding the development.
From what they said yesterday, nothing has reached me; if it has to arrive, it will arrive.
Carrillo's mother, Lucía Pariente, learned of the legal proceedings through television broadcasts and declined to engage in public debate. Pariente stated that she intends to focus on her role as a grandmother, while clarifying that Carrillo's recent absence from her program El sótano club was due to a seasonal cold rather than legal pressure. The case is now awaiting court scheduling.
