Jens Lehmann blames Bayern's communication problem and includes coach Vincent Kompany
Jens Lehmann has put Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany under pressure, calling the team's recurring defensive errors a communication problem within the squad.
Bayern Munich drew 2:2 with FC Augsburg and 3:3 at Viking Stavanger, and the repeated defensive errors have drawn growing criticism. Both matches saw Bayern sleep through the opening phase, falling behind early and then having to chase the game.
In the Sky show Triple, former Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann described a communication problem within the team and included coach Vincent Kompany in his criticism. Kompany is usually seen as a communicative coach who pairs clear instructions with a close relationship to his players, which Lehmann called into question. Lehmann said:
“I have to set an example as coach, because the players don't talk to each other.”
Lehmann also said the defensive problems are not new, pointing to mistakes Bayern made in last season's Champions League when it mattered. Bayern play RB Leipzig on Saturday, 17 October, and Arsenal visit in the Champions League a few days later.
