Jiri Lehecka faces Rafael Jodar in National Bank Open round of 16 on Sunday

Czech 12th seed Jiri Lehecka and Spanish 24th seed Rafael Jodar will meet in the round of 16 at the National Bank Open on Sunday, with the match not scheduled to begin before midnight. The two players have no previous head-to-head meetings.

Both reached this stage with wins in the tournament's early rounds. Lehecka defeated Vit Kopriva 6-4, 6-2 in the round of 64 on 5 August, then beat Alexander Blockx 6-3, 6-4 in the round of 32 on 7 August. Jodar came back from a set down to beat Corentin Moutet 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the round of 64, before a straight-sets 6-4, 6-3 victory over Lorenzo Musetti in the round of 32 on 7 August.

Jodar arrives at this match having reached the final of the Mubadala Citi DC Open on 3 August, where he lost to Taylor Fritz in straight sets. Lehecka's recent weeks included a round-of-16 exit at the Los Cabos Open on 30 July and a round-of-16 elimination at Wimbledon on 7 July, where he fell to Alexander Zverev in four sets.
