This broadcast marks the debut of the show's eleventh edition, representing its fourth installment produced within a window of 20 months. Telecinco has structured a double weekly prime-time offering for the eleventh run, scheduling episodes every Monday and Wednesday at 23:00. In addition to the main competition episodes, broadcaster Telecinco will expand its coverage starting 18 September 2026 with the premiere of El debate de las tentaciones. Presenter Sandra Barneda returns to helm both the primary competition episodes and the accompanying weekly debate format.

Villa allocations and arrival format changes

Operating under the official promotional slogan "La fuerza de lo prohibido", the eleventh edition centers on five committed couples entering the experience to test their relationships. Production designed the new season to challenge the contestants' sense of control from their initial minutes on location. Single men and women will make their entrance concealed underneath mysterious red cloaks, walking directly alongside the couples toward the villas. The traditional arrival sequence has been restructured to separate the couples immediately upon arrival, omitting the customary farewell conversations between partners. The property known as Villa Playa returns to the show's staging rotation this season to serve specifically as the residence for the male contestants.

Technological innovations and first night twists

The production introduces revised structural dynamics designed to remove the standard adjustment buffer for cast members. Among the technological additions is a remote drone system utilized to transport personal items between the residences. The drone system allows senders to watch the live, unedited reactions of their partners upon receiving the delivered items. For the female contestants, production staged an unannounced arrival during their very first evening in the villa, bringing in a romantic temptation from the past. Production configured these elements to pull emotional tension directly forward into the opening minutes of the season.

Sandra Barneda stated during the season presentation that the underlying psychology of the couples creates distinct reactions each season despite the established format.

You know what the structure is and you think you are going to experience more or less the same thing, but you realise, just like when you are in a relationship, that everything is completely different and that every relationship you experience surprises you. Well, this is what happens on La isla de las tentaciones. Depending on the couples who come, I wipe the slate clean. I know the structure, but I focus on the personalities. I focus on how they have different phases.

Barneda observed that the opening phase for incoming cast members is complete disorientation, as the lived reality quickly breaks down whatever preparation the couples had planned.
