Emergency services in the Świętokrzyskie region received notification of a traffic incident on Sunday evening, 20 September 2026, shortly after 21:00. The incident occurred along the S7 expressway near the village of Szewce, located just outside Kielce. According to regional emergency dispatch logs, the official call was received at approximately 21:20, with the crash occurring before 21:30. A Jaguar traveling along the route veered off its lane and collided directly with the energy-absorbing crash barriers lining the roadside.

Local weather conditions were adverse throughout the evening, with steady rain leaving the asphalt wet and slippery. Initial findings by traffic officers confirmed that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the difficult conditions on the wet road. The vehicle deviated from its travel lane and hit the side barriers. The driver was traveling alone in the vehicle, and no other cars were involved in the collision.

Police officers determined that the 31-year-old female driver, driving on a wet surface, lost control of the car. The vehicle left its proper lane, which led to a dangerous situation.

Emergency response and medical examination

Officers from the Świętokrzyska Police and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene near Szewce to secure the area and assess the driver. Police officers administered an on-site breathalyzer test, which confirmed that the driver was completely sober with zero alcohol in her system. Following initial roadside assessments, emergency responders transported the driver by ambulance to a hospital in Kielce for full diagnostic checks.

Police spokespersons, including representatives from the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Kielce, confirmed the operational details of the collision involving a 31-year-old woman, though standard police protocol prevented officers from officially releasing the identity of the driver. Representatives and associates of the former president did not issue an immediate statement regarding the crash.

Kinga Duda was born on 21 November 1995 in Kraków to Andrzej Duda and former first lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda. She studied law at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and currently works professionally as a lawyer. The crash investigation concluded as a non-fatal single-vehicle collision without criminal impairment, as breath tests confirmed sobriety.
