Kelce breaks silence at training camp

Travis Kelce addressed reporters on Wednesday, August 12, at the Kansas City Chiefs' training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, offering his first public comments about his July wedding to pop star Taylor Swift. Kelce, 36, is entering his 14th NFL season and told reporters the wedding was "the best night of my life." He described it as "a crazy night" that was "full of a lot of celebration" before redirecting attention to the upcoming season with a simple "But it's football, baby." The three-time Super Bowl winner spent the offseason pursuing business opportunities as well, including buying a small share of David Blitzer's stake in the Cleveland Guardians.

The Madison Square Garden wedding

Kelce and Swift, both 36, married over two days of celebrations on July 2 and 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York, according to Le Parisien and France 24; Variety and Billboard report the date as July 3. Comedian Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Swift's brother Austin Swift served as her man of honor, while Jason Kelce was Travis's best man. The couple's outfits were designed by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior Haute Couture, and Swift wore Louboutin shoes. Swift walked down the aisle to an instrumental of "Love Story," and the couple each exchanged approximately 20-minute vows, according to an insider who spoke to People magazine. Performances and costs

Paul McCartney sang the Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" at the reception, and Stevie Nicks also performed. According to Billboard, Nicks caught the bouquet and won raffle prizes. Guests could play carnival games to win raffle tickets and luxury gifts. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani disclosed that the couple paid the city $160,000 to cover costs including street closures and police presence. Forbes estimated the total cost exceeds $20 million, while a wedding expert cited by Page Six put the figure at $20 million to more than $30 million.

Kelce's MSG connection

Kelce told reporters that marrying at MSG fulfilled a childhood dream. He had always wanted to attend a Knicks playoff game at the venue but never had the chance. In June, Swift sat courtside at MSG as the Knicks completed the largest comeback in NBA Finals history, while Kelce was at minicamp.
