The fire prompted an operational alert from the Hellenic Fire Service, which launched an intervention to prevent the blaze from widening. Ground crews and aerial units converged on the location to secure the perimeter and extinguish open flames across the woodland. By late morning, emergency personnel confirmed that the fire had been contained, leaving no active fire front advancing through the area.

The Investigation Department of the Kavala Fire Service was assigned to lead the official inquiry into what sparked the blaze in the forested tract.
