Following the match against Union Berlin, Kane faced multiple questions regarding the remarks from the Barcelona winger. The English captain dismissed any suggestions of a personal dispute and praised the teenager's recent performances on the pitch.

Eberl also pointed to Olise as a legitimate contender for the prize, stating that the French winger definitely belongs among the best footballers in the world following his hat-trick against Union Berlin.

Kane noted that the extensive debate surrounding the prize stems from the high number of standout performers across domestic leagues and international tournaments this season. Alongside Olise, the English striker identified Kylian Mbappé and Rodri as prominent candidates contending for the award.

A total of 30 players have been nominated for the men's Ballon d'Or, with other candidates including Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembélé. The final winner will be announced at the London Palladium on 26 October in Kane's home city.
