New employment in Jaktorów
Dawid Kacprzyk, the physician at the center of the Szpital Południowy controversy in Warsaw, has started treating patients at Centrum Medyczne in Jaktorów, a private clinic located approximately 40 kilometers outside the capital. The facility provides basic healthcare services under a contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ). Kacprzyk has been employed at the clinic for about one week as a primary healthcare support doctor, with appointment scheduling available both in person and by telephone. On 11 September 2026, reporters documented Kacprzyk finishing an eight-hour shift that concluded after 18:00, after which the physician left the facility in a Mazda without answering media inquiries. The facility management declined to give official statements regarding his recruitment.
Professional qualifications and medical chamber response
Kacprzyk is not a certified specialist in internal medicine or family medicine, as he remains in the process of completing an anesthesiology residency. Reception staff at the Jaktorów clinic initially referred to him as an internist, which prompted clarification from professional oversight bodies regarding medical titles. Supreme Medical Chamber (NIL) spokesperson Piotr Pisula clarified that the title of internist legally belongs exclusively to doctors who have completed a specialization in internal diseases, though unspecialized doctors may practice in supporting primary care roles. Pisula added that disciplinary proceedings by the Professional Liability Ombudsman remain active.
As long as there is no decision, even by a medical court, from a formal point of view Dr. Kacprzyk can practice this profession. But as far as I know, this case is being handled as a priority.
Supreme Medical Council (NRL) President Łukasz Jankowski stated on RMF FM that Kacprzyk had not registered his new place of employment in the official medical registry. Jankowski confirmed that the chamber disciplinary investigation is nearing its conclusion, with potential outcomes ranging from acquittal to financial penalties, managerial bans, license suspensions, or the permanent revocation of the right to practice medicine.
Previous controversy at Szpital Południowy
The scrutiny surrounding Kacprzyk began following reports published in June 2026 regarding operations at Szpital Południowy, where he served as the emergency department coordinator while also acting as a Civic Coalition (KO) councillor in Warsaw's Ursus district. Reporting revealed that Kacprzyk earned 1.6 million PLN in 2025 while still undergoing anesthesiology training and simultaneously holding a non-residency position at a hospital in Częstochowa. The publications also alleged that Civic Coalition politicians received preferential treatment at the emergency ward, bypassing patient queues for immediate diagnostic testing. The ensuing political fallout led to the dismissal of the management and supervisory board of Szpital Południowy, as well as the resignations of two Warsaw deputy mayors.

Failed relocation and ongoing investigations
Prior to taking the position in Jaktorów, Kacprzyk attempted to continue his anesthesiology training in Małopolska, applying for positions at regional facilities including the county hospital in Zakopane. Transferring medical specialization training across voivodeship boundaries requires official administrative approval from the regional governor. Małopolska Voivode Krzysztof Klęczar rejected the transfer application, blocking Kacprzyk from entering the region's healthcare system.
Such an application was on my desk, but I rejected it. Consequently, this gentleman will not be working in our voivodeship.
Legal and regulatory reviews into Szpital Południowy continue across multiple fronts. The District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw is conducting two separate investigations, focusing on alleged fraud exceeding 500,000 PLN and abuse of authority by a public official. Concurrently, the National Health Fund is carrying out comprehensive financial audits initiated during the summer, which are expected to conclude in October 2026.
