Juventus and AC Milan shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Matchday 3 of Serie A. Amorim altered his setup with a triple substitution, bringing on Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Samuel Chukwueze, and Cisse in place of Saelemaekers, Rabiot, and Moreira, while Spalletti introduced Teun Koopmeiners and Jeremie Boga. The changes paid off for Milan in the 68th minute when Zeno De Winter challenged Randal Kolo Muani to launch a quick break. Chukwueze picked out Cisse on the opposite flank, and the 2006-born forward cut inside past Locatelli and Kalulu before slotting a right-footed finish into the bottom corner past Vicario. Juventus pushed forward in response, with debutant Nick Woltemade firing wide with his left foot in the 84th minute after entering the pitch. Spalletti pushed defender Federico Gatti into attack in the closing stages, and the move delivered an equaliser in stoppage time when Koopmeiners delivered a cross from the left wing for Gatti to head past Maignan from close range.

The 1-1 result prevented both Juventus and Milan from maintaining a perfect record at the start of the domestic season.
