Conceicao creates first-half danger

Juventus and AC Milan entered the third round of the Serie A season at Allianz Stadium looking to protect their flawless starts. The opening 45 minutes evolved into a tactical standoff with few clear opportunities as both managers prioritized defensive structure. Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao provided the primary attacking threat for the hosts, testing AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan with a strike in the 38th minute. Conceicao came closer ten minutes into the second half when his low shot from distance struck the base of Maignan's post in the 55th minute.

Milan substitutes deliver opening goal

AC Milan coach Ruben Amorim altered his team after the hour mark, introducing Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Samuel Chukwueze, and Alphadjo Cisse. The changes produced results in the 68th minute when Chukwueze advanced down the right flank to launch a counterattack. Despite Juventus claiming a foul on Randal Kolo Muani in the build-up, Cisse maneuvered past Manuel Locatelli and slotted the ball into the net to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage. The strike marked Cisse's third goal across all competitions this summer, following goals against Manchester United in pre-season and Torino on matchday 1.

Gatti secures late equalizer

After taking the lead, AC Milan was unable to maintain possession or clear danger from their defensive third. Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti brought on Edon Zhegrova for Conceicao in the 88th minute and sent defender Federico Gatti into the attack. In the second minute of stoppage time, Gatti met a corner kick with a header past Maignan to make the score 1-1. The goal sealed a split of the points in Turin.

Every match is a big match and we have to win all of them. It is a good test to see if we have improved compared to last week and to see how we play away from home against a great team and a great coach. I feel the team is prepared and I am too.

Serie A standings impact

The draw brought an end to both teams' 100% winning records to open the league campaign. AC Milan sits fourth and Juventus occupies fifth place, with both clubs holding seven points from three matches. Inter and AS Roma lead Serie A with nine points each following victories earlier in the round, with Inter defeating Napoli 3-2 and Roma edging Atalanta 2-1. Lazio also holds six points from two games and can join the leaders with a win against Udinese on Monday.
