The Governance Poll 2026, conducted by Noto Sondaggi for Il Sole 24 Ore and published on 6 July, measures approval ratings for mayors of provincial capitals and regional governors across Italy. Antonio Decaro, president of the Puglia region, tops the governors' list with 66% approval, while Florence mayor Sara Funari leads the mayors' ranking with the same percentage.

Among other notable results, Ascoli Piceno mayor Marco Fioravanti placed second nationally among mayors with 65%, down from 70% last year, and Naples mayor Gaetano Manfredi followed with 64%. Milan mayor Giuseppe Sala closed his second term in tenth place with 59.5%, up 1.8 points despite judicial proceedings. Rome mayor Roberto Gualtieri rose to 54% from 47% last year, while Viterbo mayor Chiara Frontini ranked seventh with 60%. Lombardy governor Attilio Fontana saw the strongest gain among governors, climbing five points to 57%.
