Journalist and environmental manager
Born in Nocera, Esposito held degrees in biology and literature and had long been passionate about sport. He was the director of the football information website Tuttosalernitana.com, a contributor to the daily newspaper La Città di Salerno, and a familiar face on the local television broadcaster Ottochannel. Alongside his media work, he was a manager at the Regional Environmental Protection Agency (Arpac), serving in its Avellino office and, until last year, following buffalo-farming companies in the Caserta area.
Investigation points to homicide
From the earliest stages, investigators ruled out an accident caused by the fire alone. According to the reconstruction being examined by the authorities, Esposito was killed first and then his body was set on fire in order to destroy evidence and hinder identification.
