Government ultimatum and security consultations

Photographs released by the Israeli military showed soldiers standing beside two recovered kites, which were small and constructed from rudimentary materials. Israeli military assessments confirmed that none of the devices carried explosives, weapons, or hazardous materials, and that they posed no direct danger to the public. These four devices brought the total count of aerial objects recovered in border areas in recent days to ten. Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the military to act firmly against future incidents, asserting that authorities would treat every launch as an act of war regardless of whether devices carry payloads.

Residents in southern Israeli communities like Nahal Oz expressed concern about a potential return to tactics seen in 2018, when Palestinian factions launched kites and balloons carrying incendiary devices to ignite fires in nearby agricultural fields.
