Rapper Ikkimel's 'Fußballmänner' performance on ZDF morning show leaves studio audience frozen, sparks viral debate

The performance

Berlin rapper Ikkimel appeared on the ZDF 'Morgenmagazin' morning show on Monday, 6 July 2026, performing her track 'Fußballmänner' as part of the programme's World Cup segment. Dressed in a short jeans skirt, a crop top, white stilettos and knee-high socks, with a whistle around her neck, she delivered lyrics mixing football clichés with sexual innuendo: 'Fußballmänner, alles Penner. Audience reaction

Camera shots of the studio crowd showed wide eyes, frowns and nervous smiles. No one clapped, swayed or sang along. Several children were present in the 'Moma-Café' and appeared equally bewildered. After the performance, moderator Andreas Wunn addressed male viewers directly:

Artist background

Ikkimel, whose real name is Melina Gaby Strauss, is a 29-year-old Berlin artist known for explicit lyrics about parties, drugs and sex, set to fast techno beats. She polarises sharply: some celebrate her as a feminist voice, others accuse her of vulgar misandry. Her 'Morgenmagazin' slot was introduced by moderators Andreas Wunn and Philip Wortmann, who noted that 'everyone seems to have an opinion' about her.
